Officers from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Department and the Ashe County Sheriff’s Department were lead on a car chase, then foot chase, across both county lines, late Monday afternoon into the early evening.

The situation began when a male subject was involved in a breaking and entering and domestic assault situation in Ashe County near the Ashe/Watauga line, Watauga County Sheriff Len Hagaman tells WataugaOnline.com on Monday night.

According to Sheriff Hagaman, “Deputies from Watauga located the male, Lindsey Milam, in the 221 construction in Watauga and gave commands for the male to stop. The male then fled from deputies up a incline from 221 towards the Blue Ridge Parkway. More deputies arrived on scene and began to search with a perimeter.

The male was apprehended after about a 10 min foot chase near the intersection of 221 and 421. While the subject was in custody a search of the suspect was done and deputies located shards of Meth, marijuana, and a large quantity of prescription pills. Mr. Milam has been charged with resisting a officer, felony possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, and simple possession of sch.2 and resisting officers. Ashe County has charged as well but it’s unknown as to what.”

Milam was caught at 6:17pm, according scanner dispatches at the time, in the area of Howard Steelman Drive and 421.
