Monday July 13

Weather permitting, flagging operations are scheduled today on 321 in Blowing Rock at Rock Rd. SLOW DOWN and STAY ALERT to construction crews and equipment entering and exiting various work areas throughout the project. SLOW DOWN and STAY ALERT to the new, temporary traffic pattern now in place from Norwood Circle to Skyland View Dr. Stay alert in the area from Tanger Outlets to US 321 Bus/US 221 as well, due to temporary lane configurations in this vicinity. 12:22pm – possible delays on 105 at Zippis due to wreck.

7:17pm – Tree down on Dewitt Barnett Rd per scanner. FD enroute to clear.

7:50pm – Trees down on Elk Creek Rd per scanner. FD enroute to clear.

Tuesday July 14

Weather permitting, flagging operations are scheduled later today on 321 in Blowing Rock from Rock Rd to Skyland View Dr.

Wednesday July 15

Weather permitting, multiple flagging operations are scheduled today on #US321 in Blowing Rock from Rock Rd near Green Park Inn to Little Springs Rd near Food Lion. Expect heavy delays.

Thursday July 16

Flagging operations are scheduled today on 321 in Blowing Rock from Rock Rd near Green Park Inn to Country Club Dr near Canyons Restaurant. Brief flagging operations are also scheduled this morning at Sunset Dr.

Friday July 17

No flagging ops are scheduled today on 321 in Blowing Rock.

3:16pm – Be advised of lots of EMS units just across the county line going down the mtn on 421 due to overturn tractor & trailer.

4:05pm – getting a report that traffic is slowly starting to move down 421 mountain. A prior incoming report had said that the road was closed at the bottom of the mountain to allow a helicopter to land. Be advised of continued delays in that area.

4:13pm – now getting a report that NCSHP and Blue Ridge Park Ranger are directing traffic at the top of the mtn and turning cars around.

4:16pm – another incoming report says that a second helicopter is landing and officials have closed the road again for a short time.

4:27pm – incoming report says the road is back open. Expect continue onlooker delays.
