The week of dry weather will come to an end as the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy will impact our area in the coming days. Widespread rain showers and thunderstorms will be the weather story Thursday through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The agency also notes that periods of heavy rainfall are expected, especially Friday and Saturday, which could lead to localized flooding or flash flooding. There is also a small chance for severe storms during this same time period.
With so many outdoor events in the High Country this weekend, residents and visitors are encouraged to be weather aware of changing conditions.
