The National Weather Service office in Blacksburg, Virginia has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for north central North Carolina, northwest North Carolina and southwest Virginia, including Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany and Wilkes counties.
Day One — Today and Tonight
There is a low probability for widespread hazardous weather.
Days Two Through Seven — Friday Through Wednesday
Isolated strong to severe storms are possible Friday and Saturday afternoons and evenings. Damaging wind gusts are the primary hazard, and heavy rainfall may also lead to urban, small stream and flash flooding.
