Some local residents got the unexpected chance to see the Goodyear Blimp flying over Blowing Rock and Boone on Friday.
The blimp, which is seen by millions annually during nationally televised sporting events, is scheduled to be in Atlanta for the Alabama vs Duke football game, according to the Goodyear Blimp schedule.
