Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams In Watauga County Until 3:45am Thursday Oct 11

The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a

* Flood Warning for Urban Areas and Small Streams in…
Alleghany County in northwestern North Carolina…
Wilkes County in northwestern North Carolina…
Watauga County in northwestern North Carolina…
Ashe County in northwestern North Carolina…

* Until 345 AM EDT Thursday

* At 347 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
flooding. Up to four inches of rain have already fallen. Flooding
is occurring on several streams and creeks. The Watauga river near
Sugar Grove is out of its banks. The Watauga river near Foscoe is
rising and near bankful.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Boone…
North Wilkesboro…
Wilkesboro…
Sparta…
and Jefferson.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to two are possible in the warned
area.

This includes The following Location Appalachian State University.
