The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a

  • Flood Warning for…
    Ashe County in northwestern North Carolina…
    Watauga County in northwestern North Carolina…
  • Until 630 PM EDT Thursday.
  • At 1223 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
    that the heavy rain due to thunderstorms has ended. Between 1 and
    3.5 inches of rain have fallen.
    Runoff from these storms continues flooding along creeks and streams.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Boone, Jefferson, West Jefferson, Blowing Rock, Beech Mountain,
Lansing and Todd.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
