FLASH FLOOD WATCH EXTENDED UNTIL 12AM SATURDAY MAY 19
The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a Flash Flood Watch for portions of North Carolina and southwest
Virginia, including the following areas, in North Carolina, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Surry, Watauga, and Wilkes.
* Rainfall of 2 to 4 inches is expected, some of this rain
occurring in a very short period of time.
* Expect flash flooding in areas of torrential rainfall.
Flooding of small streams, creeks, and smaller rivers may
occur with little warning.
