Bitter cold, along with the possibility of wintery conditions, will be the weather story as 2017 comes to a close.
It's not currently known how much, or if, we could get measurable snow by the end of the week or weekend but what is known is the cold.
High temperatures this week are forecast to reach into the 30s today and Wednesday, dropping to the 20s for Thursday, bouncing back into the 30s Friday and Saturday, 20s for Sunday and New Years Day. Lows are forecast to stay in the teens for most of the week. Single digit wind chills are expected all week and weekend long.
