A attempted traffic stop turned into a high speed chase before ending in Valle Crucis on Easter Sunday afternoon.

The vehicle turned onto Mast Gap Road and at one point was traveling over 90 mph, taking blind curves in the oncoming lane and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of  Mast Gap Road/194. The vehicle was finally stopped at a location on highway 194 before Baird's Creek Road.

Sheriff Len Hagaman tells WataugaOnline.com that the driver was taken into custody, 2 warrants along with a civil contempt order with a 30 day sentence, charged with Felony Flee and other driving offenses.

Two 16 year old passengers were in the back seat, parents were notified and came to pick up the kids and the vehicle was seized.
