UPDATE 12pm – 5 power poles were broken and full restoration is expected to be complete in the noon hour.
Crews with Blue Ridge Energy are continuing to work on Wednesday morning to restore power in a section of Watauga County.
A tree that fell on power lines at 3:13 am resulted in some residents in the Phillips Branch Road area to lose power. As of 9:30 am 39 Blue Ridge Energy members were still without power, while 36 members had been restored, according to Renee Whitener with Blue Ridge Energy. It was unclear as of 9:30 am how long it might take before full restoration would be complete.
