…A CLUSTER OF STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT NORTHEASTERN
WATAUGA…ASHE AND SOUTHWESTERN GRAYSON COUNTIES…

Until 745 PM EDT

At 656 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located 7 miles west of
Flatwood. Another strong thunderstorm was located near Abingdon
Virginia. Each of these storms are moving southeast at 25 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph and half inch hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include…
Jefferson…
West Jefferson…
Lansing…
Whitetop…
and Todd.

These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.

Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until
these storms pass.
