The Foundation of Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute exceeded its highest fundraising goal in the organization's history, raising more than $565,000 during its 2026 Annual Fund Drive.
The achievement was celebrated at an event at the J.E. Broyhill Civic Center in Lenoir, where donors, volunteers, partners and college leaders gathered to mark the sixth-highest fund drive total in Foundation history. Foundation Board Chair Peg Broyhill announced the final total of $565,031, calling it an “astounding” result.
Carmela Tomlinson, the Foundation's secretary and this year's Annual Fund Drive chair, credited the community's continued belief in the college and its students, saying the campaign's “Rising Together” theme captured the spirit of the effort.
CCC&TI President Dr. Mark Poarch thanked faculty and staff, who raised nearly $43,000 for the campaign, and pointed to ongoing construction and renovation projects underway on the college's Caldwell and Watauga county campuses.
Funds raised through the Annual Fund Drive support scholarships, student aid, emergency assistance, the Dream Award Program, academic support and athletics.
