Multiple area fire departments responded to a structure fire at a business in the 100 block of Yuma Lane Tuesday morning, though the blaze was quickly contained with only light damage to the building.
Watauga County Communications received the call just before 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25. Responders arriving on scene noted light smoke coming from the roof and garage area. The fire was contained to a piece of equipment, and crews had it under control by just after 8 a.m. The building sustained only light smoke damage.
Responding units included the Deep Gap, Stewart Simmons, Todd, and Boone fire departments, along with the Watauga County Fire Marshal's Office and Watauga County EMS.
