Boone, NC – On October 13, 2017, Watauga County Department of Social Services notified the Boone Police Department about a possible case of child abuse.
Boone Police Detectives initiated an investigation and as of the result of the investigation, Elizabeth Ann Sanders, 22 years-of-age, of Meadow Hill Drive, Boone, was arrested and charged with 1 count of Misdemeanor Child Abuse. Sanders was taken before a Watauga County Magistrate where she was assigned a December 6, 2017, court date in Watauga District Court. Sanders was released on a written promise to appear.
The victim in the alleged incident is a 1-year-old male who is currently under the custody of Watauga County Department of Social Services.
