The Boone Police Department (BPD) is reminding motorists to lock their vehicles after recent thefts from inside vehicles.
On Thursday, the department said they have received an increased number of reports of thefts both from residential and commercial parking areas.
“Many of these thefts are occurring from vehicles that have been left unsecured”, BPD said in a statement. The department has increased patrols but they remind motorists to lock your vehicle and remove valuables or leave them out of sight.
