Boone Police have filed charges in a local embezzlement case
On Tuesday, November 27th, 2018, the department received a report of fraudulent activity at High Country Community Health, located at 108 Doctors Drive.
After an investigation by the Boone Police Department Criminal Investigations Division, Emily Yvonne Whisnant, 43 years-of-age, of Newland, NC was arrested and charged on December 14th, 2018,
She is charged with six counts of Felony Embezzlement
Whisnant was taken before an Avery County Magistrate, with a court date set for January 18th, 2019, and her conditions of release were set as a $20,000 secured bond.
