Boone Police Arrest Two for the Larceny of a Firearm

On February 15, 2013, just before 2:30 PM, Boone Police Officers responded to a reported larceny of a firearm from a Shadowline Drive business. A suspect entered the store and while the employees were distracted, concealed the firearm and left the store. The other suspect drove the waiting getaway vehicle.

Boone Police Department investigators were able to identify the suspects from video surveillance. Arrested were Wesley Alan Cox, W/M, 19 years-of-age and Cameron Lloyd Cox, W/M, 17 years-of-age, both of Deep Gap, NC. Each was charged with one count of Felonious Larceny and one count of Larceny of a Firearm. Wesley Cox was held in the Watauga County Detention Facility under a $15,000 secured bond pending a March 26, 2013, court appearance. Cameron Cox was held in the Ashe County Detention Facility under a $4,000 secured bond pending a February 20, 2013, court appearance.

The firearm has not been recovered. Investigators are asking anyone with information that might assist in locating this firearm to contact High Country Crime Stoppers at 828-268-6959. All information will be kept confidential and you may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
