For the first time the Boone Holiday Parade will be held at night. The event will take place on Saturday, December 14th at 6 pm.
Mark Freed, Cultural Resources Director for the Town of Boone, shared with WataugaOnline, “For a couple years, several community members have asked about doing a night parade because they like the idea of using lights to decorate floats. Our downtown looks beautiful and festive once everyone has decorated – street poles, storefronts, etc. Also, some community members who work during the day on Saturday might have an opportunity to attend or participate this year.”
He added, “We have not made a decision for any future years at this point, but we are excited to try the night parade this year as we celebrate the holiday season with our community.”
