Summer break is about to end for area public schools, college, and university systems as the 2024-25 year begins.
Watauga and Ashe public schools head back on Monday (August 19).
Appalachian State and Lees-McRae College also begin on Monday.
Other local systems headed back this week, as Avery County started Wednesday and Watauga campus of Caldwell Community College Fall classes on Thursday.
