On November 14th, 2023, at approximately 6:25 pm, Ashe 911 Dispatch received a call about a male subject with a gunshot wound to the chest. Sheriff Deputies and Ashe Medics were dispatched to 1160 Frank Dillard Rd. Jefferson NC. Once on scene, they found a male subject with a gunshot wound to the midsection. The injury appeared to be from a 22-caliber weapon and was bandaged by the victim.
The subject was non-compliant with deputies and refused medical treatment. Deputies questioned all who were on scene and cleared any other involvement.
An ongoing investigation by Ashe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives will continue.
