Armed Robbery Occurs On Local Road, Boone Police Arrest Suspect

Boone, NC – On Friday, May 13, 2016 at approximately 11:36 PM, Boone Police were notified of an armed robbery that had occurred on Hunting Hills Lane.

The victim had agreed to give a ride to Randy Craig Pollard, 20 years-of-age, of 338 Brook Hollow Road, Boone, NC, from a business on West King Street to the Greenway Trail parking area off Hunting Hills Lane in exchange for cash.  When the victim and Mr. Pollard arrived at the Greenway Trail, Mr. Pollard produced a knife and demanded cash from the victim.  The victim complied and gave Mr. Pollard what money she had.  Mr. Pollard fled onto the Greenway Trail.

Responding Boone Police Officers located Mr. Pollard on the Greenway Trail.  After an investigation, he was placed under arrest for Felonious Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.  Mr. Pollard was taken before a Watauga County Magistrate where a $75,000 secured bond was set pending a June 17, 2016, court appearance in Watauga District Court.

The victim did not sustain any injuries from this incident.
