Areal Flood Advisory In Effect Until 9:30pm – Monday June 17, 2019

The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a

* Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Western Watauga County in northwestern North Carolina…
Northwestern Ashe County in northwestern North Carolina…

* Until 930 PM EDT

* At 530 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain due to slow moving thunderstorms. This will cause small
stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has
already fallen. Another one to two inches of rain could fall in
the area during the next couple of hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Beech Mountain…
Sugar Grove…
Ashland…
Beech Mountain In Avery County…
and Trout.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
by calling toll free at 1…8 6 6…2 1 5…4 3 2 4. Reports and
