BOONE, N.C. — Appalachian State University will recognize its spring and summer 2026 graduates during commencement ceremonies May 7–9 at Holmes Convocation Center on the Boone campus. The Thursday ceremony will be held at 6 p.m., followed by ceremonies on Friday and Saturday at 9 a.m., 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
During the events, graduates will walk across the stage and be professionally photographed as they receive their diploma covers. App State Chancellor Heather Norris will confer degrees at each ceremony, which will include graduates from each of the university’s academic colleges and the Hayes School of Music. Graduate students will participate in the ceremony represented by their major field of study.
Ceremonies are scheduled as follows:
Thursday, May 7
- 6 p.m.: Hayes School of Music, Reich College of Education, University College
Friday, May 8
- 9 a.m.: Walker College of Business — management; marketing and supply chain management
- 1 p.m.: Walker College of Business — accounting; computer information systems; economics; finance, banking and insurance
- 5 p.m.: Beaver College of Health Sciences
Saturday, May 9
- 9 a.m.: College of Arts and Sciences — anthropology; biology; chemistry and fermentation sciences; computer science; geography and planning; geological and environmental sciences; government and justice studies; mathematical sciences; physics and astronomy; rural resilience and innovation
- 1 p.m.: College of Arts and Sciences — English; history; interdisciplinary studies; languages, literatures and cultures; philosophy and religion; psychology; sociology
- 5 p.m.: College of Fine and Applied Arts
Free parking for graduates and guests attending commencement ceremonies will be available in these lots and decks:
- Holmes Drive Parking Deck
- John E. Thomas Lot
- Hill Street Lot (includes shuttle)
- Rivers Street Parking Deck
- New River Hall Lot (includes shuttle)
- Peacock Lot (includes shuttle)

Each ceremony will be recorded and posted to the university’s commencement site at a later date.
