A portion of Poplar Grove Road closed today and will remain so for the next several weeks to allow for the completion of a construction project.
The section of road is between Poplar Grove Connector and South Water Street, near the former Southern States location, and is currently planned to be closed until July 30th. Detours are in place
Carson Fisher, with NCDOT, tells WataugaOnline.com that the closure is to allow for work to be done for a new water run off plan. The plan is in conjunction with a new development that is being built on the former Southern States location and adjacent parcels.
The scheduled completion date could vary depending on the weather.
