Two test blasting operations took place last week (June 4-8) as part of the highway 321 road project in Blowing Rock. Starting the week of June 11 regularly scheduled blasting operations will begin from New River Falls Road heading south toward Skyland Drive. Motorist can expect minimal delays as these operations take place over the summer.

Cone Orchard Road intersection to 321, just south of Blackberry Ridge, has been realigned to allow easier and safer access by construction equipment. Continued slope/grading and clearing operations are continuing at various points along the entire project.
