…WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM EST SUNDAY…

  • WHAT…West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.
  • WHERE…In Virginia, Tazewell, Smyth, Bland, Wythe and Grayson
    Counties. In North Carolina, Ashe and Watauga Counties. In
    West Virginia, Mercer County.
  • WHEN…Until 1 AM EST Sunday.
  • IMPACTS…Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree
    limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS… Elevations above 4000 feet are expected to
    experience the strongest winds. Gusts up to 55 mph are possible
    on Mount Rogers and the Grayson Highlands of Virginia, and atop
    Mount Jefferson and Beech Mountain, North Carolina.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high
profile vehicle. Secure outdoor objects. Be sure to secure
outdoor objects, including trash cans and inflatable Christmas
decorations.
