“The need for an umbrella or a raincoat may be an understatement this weekend.” That's the words from a Thursday update from the National Weather Service (NWS) regarding a wet weekend ahead. NWS says that the potential for 1 to 1.5 inches is high, and certain locations could see between 2 to 2.5 inches.
The possibility for severe weather is low at the present time, but NWS says the greater concern will be the potential for runoff issues due to prolonged rainfall which could last into Monday. The chance for showers/storms raises to 60% for Friday and Friday night, 70% for Saturday, 80% for Saturday night and 90% for Sunday and Sunday night.
Winds will also noticeable pick up for Friday with gusts up to 25 mph possible. Forecast highs in the 70s for Friday, upper 60s for Saturday and dropping into the 50s for Sunday.
