Upcoming Continuing Education Courses at CCC&TI

Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute has announced several upcoming Continuing Education courses, including workforce development, career training and general interest. Following is a schedule of upcoming courses:

OSHA 10
Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will offer an OSHA 10 training course from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Oct. 7 through Oct. 9 on the Caldwell Campus in Hudson. The 10-hour General Industry Outreach Training Program is intended to provide awareness of recognizing, preventing and reporting hazards within general industry settings. Students will receive a 10-hour General Industry Safety and Health completion card. Topics include: Introduction to OSHA, Walking and Working Surfaces, Exit Routes, Emergency Action Plans, Fire Prevention Plans, Fire Protection, Electrical Safety, Personal Protection Equipment, Hazard Communication and more. Mental Health First Aid
Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will offer a Mental Health First Aid class from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 on the Caldwell Campus in Hudson. Focused on identifying, understanding and responding to the signs of mental health and substance abuse issues, the 8-hour training course is popular with medical professionals, business staff, faith communities and law enforcement. Welding at Watauga High School
Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will offer three Welding classes at Watauga High School on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. from Sept. 17 to Dec. 12. The three classes will cover Basic Welding, TIG Welding and MIG Welding. The cost is $186 per class. Individuals who want to register can call 828-297-8120.

Computed Tomography
Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will offer a Computed Tomography program on the Caldwell Campus in Hudson. The program provides the education and clinic experience for a registered technologist in radiography, nuclear medicine or radiation therapy to pursue post primary certification in computed tomography. To qualify, applicants must have a primary certification in Nuclear Medicine or Radiography. The online component (CAT 7000) is offered from Sept. 23 to May 4 and costs $180. The clinical component (CAT 7001) is offered from Sept. 23 to May 15 and costs $402, which includes radiation monitor, background check, drug screen and immunization. Mental Health Technician
Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute will offer a Mental Health Technician training program with both online and seated instruction. Classes will be offered from Sept. 24 to Dec. 6 on the Caldwell Campus in Hudson. The seated portion will be every other Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for a total of 18 seated classroom hours. The remaining coursework will be delivered online. Cost for the program is $181. Students must be a current Nurse Aide I with proof of valid NC Nurse Aide Registry and also have a high school diploma or equivalent. For more information or to register, call at 828-726-2242.
