UPDATE – Thursday, February 27, 2025 – UNC System Board of Governors has elected Dr. Heather Norris as the next Chancellor of Appalachian State. Dr. Norris became the Interim Chancellor on April 19, 2024. More details will come in a separate news article.
On Thursday, Feb. 27, the UNC System Board of Governors will elect Appalachian State University’s next chancellor during its meeting, which begins at 10 a.m. and is livestreamed by PBS North Carolina here.
Following the Board of Governors meeting, App State will hold an event with featured remarks from:
- Chancellor Search Advisory Committee Chair Deanna Ballard
- Appalachian State University Board of Trustees Vice Chair R. Thomas Sofield
- Appalachian State University’s next Chancellor
