A traffic stop in Blowing Rock led to a felony drug arrest last week, according to the Blowing Rock Police Department.
On Thursday, Aug. 6, at approximately 11 a.m., a Blowing Rock Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of Timothy W. Sweat, 65, of Hickory.
Sweat was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, driving while license suspended, fictitious registration plate, expired registration plate, covering/disguising a registration plate, failure to use a turn signal, and littering.
Due to a prior, unrelated and pending felony methamphetamine charge in Watauga County, Sweat was issued no immediate bond, according to police.
Blowing Rock police thanked Boone Police Department's K9 Milo and his handler for assistance during the traffic stop.
