The Town of Boone is participating in “No Mow May 2024”.
During the April 10th, 2024 Boone Town Council meeting, the Council passed the “No Mow May” resolution. In the resolution, property owners are encouraged not to mow their properties to promote habitat growth for the bee and butterfly pollinators. Boone is a Bee City U.S.A. affiliate.
The Town is seeking to help the pollinators by providing them with a way to grow and thrive during this spring season.
Town-owned properties, which include the Greenway Trail, the Downtown Boone Post Office, the Jones House Cultural Center, the right of ways, and more will either not be mowed for May or be mowed less frequently. Signs will also be placed in participating locations.
