Watauga County Communications received a call reporting a structure fire in the Sugar Grove area at just after 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 9.
The fire was reported in the 400 block of Shulls Hollar. Upon arrival, units confirmed flames were visible outside the structure in the area of the first floor. The fire was contained to the kitchen area, with damage extending through the first floor.
Responding departments included Cove Creek, Beaverdam, Zionville, Foscoe, Boone, and Shawneehaw fire departments, along with Watauga County Rescue Squad, Watauga County EMS, Bremco, and the Watauga County Fire Marshal's Office.
