Structure Fire Damages Units in Echota Community Tuesday Morning

WATAUGA COUNTY, N.C. — A structure fire in the Echota community drew a multi-department response Tuesday morning, with crews arriving to find an active blaze in the 200 block of Whispering Woods Lane.

Watauga County Communications received the call just after 6:30 a.m. Arriving fire departments found an active structure fire and worked to bring it under control. The fire was contained by approximately 7:30 a.m.

No occupants were present at the time of the fire. One unit sustained fire damage, and an additional unit received smoke and water damage.

Responding departments included Foscoe Fire, Boone Fire, Seven Devils Fire, and Linville Fire, with additional support from Watauga County EMS, the Watauga County Fire Marshal's Office, and Blue Ridge Energy.

The cause of the fire is pending investigation by the Fire Marshal's Office.
