Reports into the National Weather Service report varying sizes of hail in Wilkes County yesterday from the storms, and pictures sent in via facebook show the flooding aftermath near Lenoir in Caldwell County.
In Wilkes County reports of penny to quarter size hail was reported. At the intersection of Congo Road and Winkler Mill Road reports of quarter size hail along with 6 to 8 inches of water flowing over a bridge, one car was swept into a ditch. The quarter size hail lasted about 7 minutes, from 5:53pm to 6pm. Dime size hail reported near Miller's Creek.
