…FIRE DANGER REMAINS ELEVATED ACROSS THE STATE OF NORTH
CAROLINA…

Grass, brush, leaf and tree litter are very dry.

Although relative humidity minimums will be higher today,
temperatures will be warmer and winds will be stronger during the
afternoon and early evening hours. Rain is not expected to develop
soon enough to have an impact on fuel moisture during the warmest
part of the day. As such, forestry officials still recommended to
refrain from outdoor burning.

If you work with equipment that generates sparks, such as
chainsaws or grinding tools, please ensure that fire suppression
equipment is readily available. Properly extinguish and dispose
of any smoking materials.

Rain is on the way. Widespread showers are expected by Wednesday
morning.
