…INCREASED FIRE DANGER ACROSS WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND
NORTHEAST GEORGIA IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THROUGH 8 PM EDT THIS
EVENING…

In coordination with land managers and neighboring forecast
offices, Fire Danger Statements have been issued for all of
western North Carolina and northeast Georgia for this afternoon
and evening. In the affected areas, gusty afternoon winds will
coincide with low humidity and dry fuels. Fire will have an
easier time starting and spreading.

Refer to your local burn-permitting authority on whether you may
burn today. If you do burn, exercise extreme caution.
