Last Updated on May 1, 2016 4:45 pm

Beginning Monday, May 2, 2016 (weather permitting), construction crews will begin excavating across the intersection on US321 at US 221/US 321 Bus/N. Main St. This work is necessary in order to continue duct bank installation operations in this area.

US 221/US 321 BUS/N. MAIN ST. WILL NOT BE CLOSED; however, motorists can expect significant congestion and delays when traveling through this intersection and should adjust travel times accordingly. At certain times during this work, left turns from various approaches at this intersection may be restricted.

Motorists are encouraged to plan their trips to reduce left turn movements at this intersection as much as possible during this phase of the duct bank construction and to use alternate routes such as West Cornish St, Sunset Dr, Church St, Ransom St and US 321 Bus/S. Main St. when traveling to and from #US321 and Downtown Blowing Rock. This work is anticipated to last throughout the remainder of the week.
