Construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with various moderate to significant impacts to traffic. A lane closure for southbound traffic from Tanger Outlets to Food Lion Shopping Center is in place for sidewalk prep/installation; a lane closure with flagging is in place on Sunset Dr for sidewalk work at Glenwood Office Complex and finally, a flagging operation is in place south of Rocky Knob Rd for storm drain work.
Expect congestion and some delays in the northbound section of Blowing Rock Road as construction continues on the new intersection.
10:51 am – stoplight at 421 and old east King st is not functioning for either road, per incoming report.
Wednesday Sept 7
1:44am – Due to main water line break on 321 at McDonald’s only one southbound lane and one northbound lane open till further notice.

A lane closure for northbound traffic is in place from Sunset Dr to Possum Hollow Rd for various ops including traffic signal work and sidewalk prep; a lane closure for southbound traffic is place from Tanger Outlets to Food Lion Shopping Center for sidewalk prep/installation and utility work; and flagging is operations are in place on Sunset Dr for sidewalk work at Glenwood Office Complex and at Citgo. Various other construction operations not impacting travel will continue today as well.
Friday September 9
