Some sections of Watauga County were impacted by power outages on Sunday.
Though the exact cause of some of the outages could not be confirmed, when not weather related often they are due to animals.
“This time of year, even though we have different types of animal guards in place, a lot of animals like squirrels, snakes, and birds in particular manage to get in and cause some issues”, according to Renee Walker, Director of Public Relations for Blue Ridge Energy.
