Several power outages impacted portions of Watauga County on Monday.
The larger outage was caused by a burnt switch inside a substation, according to Renee Walker with Blue Ridge Energy. That equipment was repaired/replaced.
It affected 3,594 members in the Foscoe, Hound Ears, Howards Knob, and HWY 105 area. There were also several smaller outages during the day, which are often caused by animals getting into a substation or tripping something on a line.
