Wednesday, December 27, 2023 – This afternoon members of Linville Central Rescue, Linville Volunteer Fire Department and Ems Avery responded to a report of an injured hiker on one of the multiple trails on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Teams deployed into the woods and made contact with the subject. After assessment and initial treatment, the subject was packaged in a stokes basket and carried out to the waiting ambulance for transport to the local hospital.
