WARRENSVILLE – A bridge replacement project near Ashe County Middle School is on schedule to conclude this summer.
In order to finish the work, a contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will install a 30-day lane closure of the northbound lane of N.C. 194 at the bridge over the North Fork New River on Thursday.
Crews from James Vannoy & Sons Construction will install temporary traffic signals to safely manage traffic on the southbound lane. The closure will allow crews to safely pour the final concrete surface of the northbound lane.
The closure is similar to a previous lane closure in 2024. Delays should be minimal even during school drop-off and pick-up times.
Transportation officials remind drivers to travel safely and obey all posted traffic signs and signals.
