In what may be the final sports award in the storied career of Pioneer star Kate Sears, ESPN has recognized her accomplishments.
Sears has been named to the ESPN Top 100 High School Women's Basketball players for the 2024-25 season. In the 82nd spot, the soon-to-be Virginia Tech Hokie, landed a grade of 92.

In March, she was named the 2024-25 Gatorade North Carolina Girls Basketball Player of the Year. She was also named Ms. Basketball, the best girls’ player in North Carolina, by the Charlotte Observer and NC PLAYER OF THE YEAR by the NC Coaches Association and NWC PLAYER OF THE YEAR for 4th Consecutive Year.
