Monday January 18

Wind chills are below zero in the 6am hour. County dispatch says black ice is possible but overall roads are not impacted significantly by overnight snow.

7am – No reported travel issues due to overnight snow.

1:43pm – Wreck on 105 near Taylor Road in Foscoe. Expect delays.

2:15pm – Foscoe Fire has cleared the scene of 105 wreck in Foscoe.

Wednesday January 20

Fine snow falling in Boone for now. No reported travel related issues as of 10:24am.

1:01pm – Snowing starting to fall at a pretty good rate. Getting first report of snow covered roads from Trashcan Falls to the Tennessee line on 321.

1:56pm – Old US Hwy 421 in Zionville snow covered per incoming report.

2:11pm – Boone Police being dispatched to numerous wreck calls around town.

2:15pm – 194N in Todd has patchy snow and ice in curves north of Green Valley Elementary, and Three Top Road is snow-covered per incoming report. And 421/old 421 to Deep Gap is snow covered and slick.

Thursday January 21

5am – Main roads appear to be in good shape according to early morning reports. Secondary roads could still be snow covered in some locations, while gravel roads are snow covered. Winter Storm Warning goes in effect tonight.
