It is time again for Bobcats young and old to return to the mountain for Homecoming 2023! This weekend of festivities, friends, and fun will be held Friday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 1, and each day is packed with beloved traditions and exciting new opportunities perfect for showing off your Bobcat pride.
The official welcome event of the weekend, BobcatFest, will make its Homecoming debut this year on Friday, Sept. 29 on Tate Lawn. Not only will this festival kick off the weekend, but it is also a fantastic opportunity to mingle with alumni from other classes and current students over live music, fun games, and a delicious meal. Dinner service will start at 5 p.m., the Homecoming court will be presented at 5:30 p.m., band Bantum Rooster will play from 6 to 8 p.m., and Bantum Rooster’s DJ will close out the night with music from 8 to 9 p.m.
“Join us to kick-off Homecoming weekend with a BobcatFest you won’t want to miss! We’ll be back on Tate Lawn with live music from Bantum Rooster, a cook-out, fire pits, lawn games, and more,” Vice President for Institutional Advancement Susan Boyette said.
BobcatFest will join the schedule alongside long-time favorites like the Green and Gold Brunch with President Lee King from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in Evans Auditorium on Saturday, Sept. 30, and tailgating at the Fred I. Dickerson Athletics Complex on Saturday afternoon. Tailgating registration for this year’s Homecoming opens at 12:01 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 1. Spaces will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to claim your spot for the men’s and women’s Homecoming soccer games.
This year’s Homecoming is truly a weekend you won’t want to miss. Registrants will also have the opportunity to purchase commemorative Homecoming 2023 long-sleeve T-shirts. Place your T-shirt order at the time of registration for 10% off and wear it proudly when you return to the mountain this fall.
