…HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM EST
TUESDAY…

* WHAT…For the High Wind Warning, west winds 25 to 35 mph with
gusts up to 60 mph expected. For the Wind Advisory, southwest
winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.

* WHERE…Avery, Yancey and Mitchell Counties.

* WHEN…For the High Wind Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 9
AM EST Tuesday. For the Wind Advisory, until 7 PM EST this
evening.

* IMPACTS…Damaging winds may blow down trees and power lines.
Power outages are possible. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.
