This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for north central North Carolina, northwest North Carolina and southwest Virginia.

Day One… Today and Tonight

Heavy rainfall from thunderstorms may create localized Flash Flooding from the Blue Ridge westward. There is also a Marginal Risk of Severe Weather due to damaging wind gusts for northwest North Carolina and southwest Virginia.

Days Two Through Seven… Sunday Through Friday

Daily afternoon and evening thunderstorm chances will persist into next week. The main threat from storms will be heavy rainfall, which could result to localized flash flooding.

Spotter Information Statement

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.

Counties covered: North Carolina — Ashe, Alleghany, Surry, Watauga, Wilkes, and Yadkin. Virginia — Smyth and Grayson.
