Last Updated on October 31, 2018 1:06 pm

High Country Crime Stoppers and Boone Police seek the public’s assistance in solving the following crime:

On Saturday, October 27, 2018, at approximately 3:00 AM, two unknown subjects entered numerous vehicles in the parking lot of Bavarian Village – 314 Meadowview Drive – and took cash.  Surveillance footage is below.

Some important tips to reduce or prevent thefts from vehicles:

  • Always lock your vehicle.
  • Don’t leave valuables in view. This not only means obvious things like wallets, purses, cameras, leather jackets, CD players, etc., but any bags or backpacks that might appear to hold them. If you must leave valuables in the car, use the trunk. If you don't have a trunk, try under the seat or cover the items with a floor mat or blanket. At least get it out of open view.
  • Don’t leave your ID or credit cards in the vehicle. Car break-ins are a gold mine for identity theft.

Anyone with information on this crime or any other crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 828-268-6959 / 828-737-0125 or the Boone Police Department at 828-268-6900.  You may also submit a Crime Stoppers Tip via our website at https://www.tipsubmit.com/webtips.aspx?AgencyID=1251 or Text “NCTIP plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES).  All information will be kept confidential.
