Boone Fire Department units were dispatched during the 11 a.m. hour Friday to a brush fire in the area of 1013 Highway 105, in the back parking lot near First Community Bank.
The first responding unit reported a slow-moving brush fire. A subsequent unit reported the fire had moved into a nearby cemetery. Scanner traffic indicated the fire was logged as controlled shortly after crews arrived.
No injuries were reported. WataugaOnline will update this report if additional information becomes available.
